DIAGNOSIS

Suddenly,
I am a great mathematician
Counting days,
both rainy and sunny.
Suddenly,
I am counting tears
Filling up jars of despair.
Not so suddenly
I am counting breaths of acceptance.
I will breathe anyway
Until I can’t.

Half open letter from my doctor
rests on my desk.
So respectfully written.
A surprisingly small number of letters
can change the universe forever.
My sentence between two dots.

I am going to put the letter back
into the envelope,
and place it at the
end of the Beckett’s
book. The wait is
over.

After finite, integer number
of joyful moments
I will join soon
The Greatest Mathematician
In infinite counting
of quarks and quirks.
